According to housing experts, the past two years has shown numerous apartment buildings transformed into Las Vegas condos and left Las Vegas with a shortage of apartments. Some say they can handle the shortage of apartments, others say with increasing land prices, increasing interest rates, and increasing rent rates, which the Las Vegas bubble will have to burst soon because the economy will not support itself. NAR released a report this month that showed that foreclosures across America were up 17% from this time last year.
It also showed that compared with earlier months in 2006, it appears that the rate is showing a slight decrease. Last week a Las Vegas real estate mogul sent an unmanned spacecraft into outer space. That spacecraft, called Genesis I, has sent back the first images since it slipped into orbit and expanded itself.

Partial tax abatements are given to Las Vegas developers who meet or exceed standards that were established by the U.S. Green Building Council. According to the Nevada Commission on Economic Development another step has been taken to reward those Las Vegas real estate developers who show that they are doing their best to develop more environmentally friendly structures.
The council decides which real estate developers will receive the tax abatement based on the LEED Rating System, for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. Points are awarded in several different fields which allows more than one Las Vegas developer to be in the running for the tax break.
