Las Vegas Homes BlogLas Vegas real estate blog with market conditions, news and availability of Las Vegas homes and condos as presented by RE/MAX Associates. Wednesday, September 27, 2006Will Congress Allow The OCC To Continue
The OCC's ruling to expand congressionally established bank authority, basically creates new law without public or congressional participation, says Thomas M. Stevens, President of the National Association of Realtors.
Recently the OCC has allowed three banks to take part in the purchase of commercial real estate. This allowance will allow banks to now become interested parties when it comes to real estate. Some Las Vegas experts agree with the President of NAR and there haven't been too many Las Vegas real estate agents step up to defend the OCC. Now NAR is pleading to Congress to put a ban on the OCC from allowing banks to participate in purchasing real property. |
